A phone call

James bond brought out his latest communicator model no 1000i and tried to make an "important" phone call to one of his girlfriends. Alas ! The call did go through but the phone was picked up by some one else. He did not hear anything from the otherend and thus he started the conversation.

"Hi, I am bond, James bond."

"What a coincidence ! I am bond too." The voice came from the other side.

Bond took a step back. It was not expected at all.

"Wow ! That's great to know. But probably you are aware that I am the most popular one on this earth"

"Who said so ? "

Bond got angry. So he tried to satisfy his ego.

"Everybody on this earth know me.I work for the government of England but I am truly global by nature of my profession as I need to carry out mission from Holland to Honolulu."

"May be thats true.But, don't even compare yourself with me. Your government has no other option than me. I save goverments and I make people richer. Thus everybody on this earth loves me"

James Bond tried his best for the last time to establish his superiority.

"Do you know I am the most dangerous living being on this earth ?"

"Yes I do. But may be your are unaware that I am the most secured one on this earth."

At this stage,James bond got curious about the stranger. So, he could not resist himself from asking the stranger about his(/her/its) identity.

The stranger said in typical bond style" I am bond, Gov bond. I do retire like you but I never get injured or killed. I have a maturity date but who cares. "

Marriage or Adoption ?

Who do we mean by M &A ? Is it Merger and Acquisition or Marriage & Adoption ? I am little confused. Hope somebody will clear my doubt.

Apart from raising this kind of ridiculous question or writing humerous blogs , I also study Merger & Acquisition other than several finance electives.

Finance Guru vs Astrologer

This is something I am writing on the pretext of next few session of Finance:

Once a Finance Guru met a well known Astrologer to know his future. After they met and discussed, it appeared to them, that both of them could enjoy benefit of each other's profession in the same way. As the Finance Guru was in search of his fate in future as finance guru, the astrologer was also in search of his future finance estimate, roughly speaking "future cashflows of his business".After revelation of this fact, the astrologer was in great dilemma, as he was thinking about the threat posed by the finance guru to his bread and butter. Because, broadly speaking, both of them were in "prediction of future" business. One was doing with frameworks and the other one was doing without any framework. One was predicting future cash flows other one was predicting the fate of others to earn that cash flow. So friends, here is my first question of my whole blog life. Which one is better profession and why ?

Union and Intersection

Few weeks back, we were busy at European Commission in Bruxelles ( as spelled in Belgium) to learn some aspects of European Union. The time I heard union it reminded me of intersection and union of set algebra.
The union will be effective if and only if the intersection is effective enough. EU has 27 countries at present and looking forward to expand by including countries like Switzerland, Norway etc. But all these countries have different languages with different cultures and this poses a big problem for the officials at Brussels. The current EU map is something like below( Courtesy: wikipedia)Though the future of this union solely depends on the bonding or coupling between the states but whatever they have achieved over last five decades is good enough. The effort was started just after second world war.
It took 60 years journey for the union to become the present day union but is it truly an European union ? No, it does not seems so though it apparently looks so from outside. From the map itself very clear, that it is a union with a hole as Switzerland. In addition to that many of the European states have not joined it yet. Also, the states, like UK who joined the union long back , don't accept common currency and visa. This is only tip of the iceberg(problems).

Though 22000 officials at the commission are trying their best to negotiate and meditate with different countries to keep them united but future is "certainly uncertain".

6 Steps of (Mis)Management

Step 1 : Present a theory by some popular guy(s) / noble laureate(s).

Step 2 : Derive the theory and establish it by many of our popular frameworks.

Step 3 : Present a neo theory by some other guy(s)

Step 4 : Establish and try to convince the reader why the later is better the former one

Step 5 : Conclude by saying nothing is finite and deterministic in this world

Step 6 : Repeat step 1 to step 6 with new ideas and theories and continue it until either you are convinced or the reader is frustrated.

Gender of Management

I was walking down the lane on my way to hostel when I got stuck with a question. The question was simple "What is the gender of management?". I thought about it and tried to find out the answer. Is it male or female ?

Is it powerful or is it sensitive ? Will it help in life as lifeguard or will it be able to give birth to new lives ?

I was thinking of the manifestations of management in life in form of pluses and arrows and their roles.

Then I thought about mismanagement. Is it (she) Miss Management ?

Then I thought, how could it be ? Nooooooooooooooo.....it should be rather other way around.... So finally I gave up...Whether he is Mr. Management or she is Miss Management , I need to fight everyday to learn the art of making people puzzled in intilligent ways and compelling them to accept my words. How ? Wait for my next post.
